President

& Operations Manager

Sarah Hughes is one of the Co-founders of Waikato Women in Business and is currently the President and Treasurer of the Board.

Sarah has had a few different businesses since starting WWIB in 2020, but now works in her business Sarah Hughes Creative as a Freelancer and Business Development Manager for Creative Service Businesses.


Sarah loves working for non-profit organisations and her other work includes Hamilton Operatic Society Inc. and the New Zealand Association for Teachers of Singing (NEWZATS). Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Voice from Vision College (2018) and Bachelor of Media Arts (Honours) in Musical Theatre Singing and Jukebox Musicals from WINTEC - Te Pukenga (2023). She is currently studying towards her Masters in Music at WINTEC - Te Pukenga.

Vice-President

& Legal Advisor

Janey Haringa is a board member of Waikato Women in Business and also acts as our Legal Counsel.

Janey is the founder & director of JH LAW. She has a passion for helping businesses become leaders in their respective industries, through pragmatic commercial & corporate legal advice. Prior to law, she worked for organisations in Auckland focused on funding early stage businesses to further commercialise their ideas.

Janey enjoys networking across our local business community. She is also a member of the Waikato Chamber of Commerce, Institute of Directors, NZ Law Society, Biotech NZ, Institute of Finance Professionals NZ and a committee member for the NZ Shareholders Association Waikato Branch.

Board Secretary

Tash Budd is the Secretary of the Waikato Women in Business Board and Administrator.

Tash has a Virtual Assistant business called Admin Collective, which provides administration support to businesses of different sizes and industries.

 

Tash works with a number of not-for-profit organisations, including being a founding Trustee on one board and is in her 4th year on that Trust's board.

Board Member

Antonia Carter is the immediate past vice-president of Waikato Women in Business and also volunteers as the Newsletter Editor and Hamilton Rep Team Leader.

 

Antonia runs a Brand Design business for women called Antonia Creative. She  also provides freelance Marketing & Communications support to small businesses around New Zealand.

Meeting a range of talented, entrepreneurial women has been the most rewarding aspect of her experience at Waikato Women in Business.

Treasurer

Alice Norton is a business owner, a mum to two very busy teen girls, and is passionate about making our community a better place.

 

Alice has been in the VA biz for nearly 10 years providing accounting and administrative support to organisations across Aotearoa. She has had the privilege of providing financial support to many not-for-profit and membership groups and looks forward to her role of Treasurer for Waikato Women in Business.
